The name “Coyoacán” comes from Nahuatl and means “place of coyotes”. In ancient times, this area was inhabited by coyotes and other wild animals. Over time, it became an important cultural and artistic center in Mexico City.

Some of the main tourist attractions in Coyoacán are the Blue House of Frida Kahlo, the Frida Kahlo Museum, Centenario Garden, Hidalgo Square, and the Coyoacán Market.

Weekends tend to be the busiest days in Coyoacán due to the variety of cultural and artistic activities, but if you prefer to avoid crowds, weekdays are a good option.
